There are dozens of breakout strategies available to traders (range BO, session BO, consolidation BO…). Markets spend a lot of time ranging. Knowing how to spot and trade a successful breakout can be really rewarding.

How to stay away from fake breakouts? What are the best breakouts? What is the best way to trade breakouts…?

Fractal Box breakout as trigger

You will notice that Fractal Boxes of the current timeframe are always displayed on my charts. Those Fractal boxes are hardcoded into Blast and I always display them on initialisation.

Those Fractal Boxes can help to identify the current Trend HH LL and to spot potential breakout areas.

The screenshot bellow shows a really rewarding Fractal BO trade at London open:

In 1 word, yes, Fractals boxes are based on candle close (confirmed fractals). In order to have a deeper explanation about how Fractals are calculated into Blast, you can have a look at a post that I have prepared to answer a question from mntiwana: Link.

On the screenshot above, we can see for November 3rd that at London Open the Fractal Box was not too “big”. A tight box is a must as one side of the box is used as trigger, and the other one as SL, so the smaller the box the bigger the potential reward.

As you know, around LO volatility come in the market. There are plenty of different Breakout strategies used around this time. This Fractal Box is one among others.

Off course, in order to trade this breakout, a confirmation with GBP strength would have been a must.

There are plenty of variations around this simple Fractal Box breakout system. If the trade is stopped out, we can imagine a trade in the other direction.

There is also the 3 legs trade briefly described into Blast trade…

I think we will have plenty of opportunities to discuss about those Fractals Boxes in the near future
