Bitcoin
How to start the Crypto Currencies thread with another currency than the Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency and a digital payment system invented by an unknown programmer, or a group of programmers, under the name Satoshi Nakamoto. It was released as open-source software in 2009.
The system is peer-to-peer, and transactions take place between users directly, without an intermediary. These transactions are verified by network nodes and recorded in a public distributed ledger called a blockchain. Since the system works without a central repository or single administrator, bitcoin is called the first decentralized digital currency.
There are thousands of websites out there which are explaining what is the bitcoin, but the best explanation remains the white paper written by the creator himself and which explain what it is in 8 pages. PDF attached to this thread.
Bitcoin has more than tripled in 2017, and those gains have brought its market cap to $46.68 billion, accounting for nearly half of the entire category of crypto currencies which reached around $100 billion of market capitalization.
If you have already read my dumb extrapolation about the Bitcoin, you understand that even at the current price the growth potential is huge…
What is your view or trading approach about this instrument? Are you considering trading it? Any chart, advice?
