Hi Geko, next question LOL

I have strategy 2 setup on this DB with 2 CCFp indicators going, and I have 1 trade per pair set, and multiplier is set to false, however when using my ALL button, it still placed multiple trades per pair...

I thought the Strat 2 treated the combined signals as 1 valid signal, and would place 1 trade per signal, and use the multiplier to increase the lot size if the user wants more bang...

I have highlighted 1 signal line but they are all the same...

Geko,

I have just realized that in your results thread, when you say Trend Filter, you mean the special coding that you included in the CCFp indicator, correct?

So you don't use any of the Candle Direction to filter any signals out; I guess to use those, that adds a whole new level of complexity and number of basket setups required :-o

Just wanted to confirm that, thanks, John

That is how I understand it, it is an additional level of trend filtering, then you can add the candle directions on top of that, if you wish...

The more filtering though, the less trades, but possibly better quality trades...

Hi Geko, to update information on this, I had the DB open the same signals automatically at LO, and it only opened 1 trade per signal as expected. So I guess its the ALL button causing multiple trades to be placed on the same symbol...

Hi John,

Correct, it has nothing to do with Candle direction.

The idea is to trade in the CCFp trend direction. As the CCFp is calculated inside the DB I can calculate the CCFp value for the current bar and the previous one.

The idea is:

- The current CCFP value for the base must be >= at the previous one
- The current CCFP value for the quote must be <= at the previous one

Which mean that strength should be increasing:

- for base is previous value is 2 and current value is 3
- for quote is previous value is -3 and current value is -4

Should be better than
- previous 4 current 3
- previous -5 current -4

And help to filter potential reversals.

I hope it is clear, the screenshot in the PDF should help to visualize what I mean ;-)

John,

In addition, what I could tell about the Trend Direction filter:

Firewight is right: “The more filtering though, the less trades, but possibly better quality trades...”.

Here I would not consider trading live without this filter. From my preliminary tests, I can say that:

- As some signals are filtered there are less trades
- When basket go directly into profit, baskets without this filter have more profit has there are more trades or lots without this filter
- As there are less trades there is less margin used
- Drawdown is really less important thank without the filter

So equity is better used with this filter…

You are right, post 1 updated with V 1.06.

I have included an additional control which should avoid this issue with manual orders. I let you test it and potentialy report me ;-)

Geko,

Thanks for the confirmation and extra explanation. I did see it in the pdf manual and totally understand it, I think it is awesome and something that no one else has access to, so very much appreciated.

I am using it, and might turn off the Candle Direction filters, hey, I just had an idea....

When the Candle color filters are off they do not display.

Would it be possible to leave them on the screen and have the message On / Off down where the other messages are, that is on the line with @ Signal, @ Trend, @ Level

Also, maybe there could be a heading also? eg MN , W1 , D1 like that?

We could be using only 1 of the time frame for filtering with EA but still be able to see all 3 time frames display, and know which are On / Off.

The purpose would be, they make great confirmation for entering additional trades as per the Trade Buttons you are working on now.

So if we see the EA has entered some trades, and the price action looks good, and the candle color all agrees with our direction, manually enter some extra positions.

Thanks so much for your excellent work, much appreciated, John
