I totally agree with you..The virtual basket monitor could be a game changer :ninja: ..
Geko wrote: 03 Jun 2017, 01:19 The more I think at it the more I think the Virtual Basket could be a killer.

Thanks to this approach we don’t need to focus on opening time anymore. We just have to set a time slot to monitor Virtual basket let’s say from Frankfurt open until mid-New-York session (around 1 hour before London close) and we just have to wait for best condition to trigger our basket automatically.

The good thing with this approach is that it could definitely help to reduce the Drawdown of our basket.

It can be applied to Daily setup off course and also to the weekly.

It should be fun to test it in the coming days.

Have a nice week-end.

Geko wrote: 03 Jun 2017, 13:47 Thanks Alan, it is clear now for the approach, the last question just for confirmation:

You are using the weekly signals and enter them as they are if the VB reach + 300 and so you enter reverse trades if they reach -300 (you just inverse buy for sell..).
Yes....hopefully to catch the moves that would normally be against us. You may ask why 300 pips.....it comes from maket observations and some backtests data I have seen....Obviously on the dashboard this needs to be configurable for traders using a multimate basket aproach.
Awsome.

I am not that sure any more.

Just to explain for guys, a virtual basket trigger a basket if the min pips is >= 0. The idea was to have another triggering mode with reversal trades if max pips <= 0.

Initially when I was monitoring a Virtual Basket I thought that it could be a good idea to have a reversal option as well, but at the end, after stepping back a little bit and thinking during the week-end I don’t think so anymore.

All this CCFp stuff is about finding potential pairs which are ready to move and generate some pips in a basket. Our odd is the CCFp calculation. This CCFp calculation tells us that an instrument is potentially ready to move in a direction, it is not telling us that it is ready to move in the other direction…

This idea might be good to scalp a few pips, but when we see how many pips we can generate with CCFp strategy I am not sure it is such a good idea.

Technically it is not that difficult to code, but before to implement it, your opinion is welcome guys.

A little bit of forum organization tonight, to make it easier for you to navigate and keep the information’s well organized.

Guys, in one of my previous post, I purposed to create some dedicated thread per users for those who wants to share results and have their own thread (by dedicated I mean thread where you are the only ones who can post). It will make it easier to follow user’s results as users would be the only one who can post.

Unfortunately, it is impossible to create personal threads per users as Phpbb manage permissions per forum (and sub forum).

But fortunately, it is possible to create personal forums… So, I have started to create personal forums where users can create their own thread.

To keep the forum organized properly, I have moved those personal forums into this section:

TRADING SUCCESS - HALL OF FAME
> TRADING JOURNALS
…. Users forums

At the moment, there are 4 forums created:

Geko’s Journal
Forexpinbar’s Journal
Firewight’s Journal
Mrdfx's Journal

Then you just have to create a personal thread into those journal like: “Forexpinbar’s CCFp results”

If you want to have your own dedicated forum, just drop me a PM ;-) (I have removed the previous poll as it was not the easiest way to get feedback).

I will create a summary with links to user’s threads to make it easier to navigate ;-)

Now that we have some great tools to trades this strategy, testing and comparing results will be the crucial part.

In most forums, users don’t have their own thread where they can share results and so it makes it difficult to follow each user ideas/results/settings. (Like in FF).

I hope this way to share and allow users to have their own space will help to get more visibility and organization.

I think organizing, sharing and comparing results will be of great help for all of us to find the best settings.

That’s it ;-)

Sounds great, your sub forum is ready, you can start your thread at any time:

viewforum.php?f=21

To make it easier for members to find the various member’s threads I purpose to create some links in the first post of this thread.

As the thread will be locked per users, we can still use this thread to discuss results.

PS: post 1 edited and ready to post links to member's threads.

Hi Guys,

Dashboard update: V.108 available in post 1. It is not a major update you can just erase your previous DB verion.

PDF user guide updated also.

Starting from now, when I post an update, I will add to my messages the wording that I add in the user guide also in my post to make it easier for your guys who are following the thread to know what has changed.

The information’s will be in the PDF user guide as well for new comers and as a reference guide.

- Special Basket Management “Basket open time”:
===============================================

To avoid confusion, when there is no basket open, the date is empty, the opening time will appear only where there is basket:

1 op.png

- Virtual Basket ending pips
===============================================

Now the information about the pips count at the end of a time slot is displayed in the Virtual Basket column:

It is not cumulative, if you want to know how many pips a VB has moved from a time slot to another you have to sum up the ending pips values.

2 pc.png

I wanted to post this latest DB version early so as your guys can work and prepare your setup before market open.

After discussions with Forexpinbar, I will code an option to trigger virtual baskets with reversal trades when max pips count = 0. I will start coding it tomorrow.

The Virtual Basket’s column is taking a lot of space and our screens do not have unlimited space available. I was considering to remove the “base” column from information’s available on screen and to place it as a comment in the min pips comments (when you hover your mouse over the min pips value). What do you think?

Park time here, be back later to set up some additional tests.

Have fun guys.
