My test 11 with Alan Virtual Basket hit TP ;-)

So after a first move in the wrong direction, SL was hit (-300 pips) and a reversal basket was opened. Net pips + 1200.

A good start for this new VB mode, which:
1 confirm that the DB is working fine,
2 confirm that this strategy has some legs :-D

Oh and I almost forgot to say, look at the DD on this oppposite basket... - 35 pips for a 1500 pips TP, awesome.

Many thanks to Alan for sharing this idea with us :party:

Friday 16 June

An awful day for Daily baskets.

What a week for Weekly baskets and Daily Virtual Basket.

Deeper analysis coming later the time to compute everything in Excel...

PS: I have just moved my Excel template to compute my results into post 3 of this thread, to make it easier to find it.

In the next days, I will change a little bit the template to make it "more compatible" with the CSV file exported by the Dashboard, so as you would just have to copy and paste the data from the CSV to create your database... More on that later.

Here is a deeper analysis of my results:

Results per Week
==========================================================
A1.png

Week 22 and 23 were hit by major news:
Week 22: Non-farm
Week 23: UK election and red news

As in those tests I don’t manage the baskets, if there are not in the good direction when news are released, the loss can be huge. And so, during those weeks results were not good.

Week 21 & 24 whichwere in some way “normal” weeks, have a good result.

Results per Strategy
==========================================================

==> Results per Strategy:
A2.png

With such different trading conditions during those 4 weeks tests (week 20 was a 1 day test), it is difficult to conclude anything based only on this statement.

==> Average results per Strategy:
A3.png

Test 01 Versus Test 02
==========================================================

Initially Test 01 with Trend Direction filter on was better than Test 02 without Trend Direction filter. Now it seems that this Test 01 is not as good as Test 02 in terms of results and average values.

==> Cash results per day and per test:
A7.png

==> +++ Good:
Test 02 has better final result than Test 01
Test 01 is using less margin and have on average a lower DD values than Test 02
Test 02 have on average a bigger max profit than Test 01

I am going to continue testing those 2 setups as I don’t want to give up right now with the Trend direction filter.

PS: As Test 02 has not the filter, there are more trades opened and potentialy bigger profit or loss.

I am testing this Trend Direction Filter only on Daily Baskets at the moment and once I have finish the tests on Daily, I will perform a test on the Weekly timeframe as well.

FT Versus FF Versus TF on the Daily tests
==========================================================
A4.png
The 3 tests are in loss, Test 05 (FT) is the “best” (less worst) of them in terms of results and had the biggest max pips value.
A5.png
In terms of average values, Test 05 has also the best average results and the best average max profit, but has also the worst average max drawdown.

We can note that Test 04 has the average max profit equal to its average max drawdown when for the 2 other tests the average drawdown is bigger than the average profit.

==> Cash results per day and per test:
A6.png

When we compare the results per day we can note that Test 05 have more winning days than the 2 others strategies and that Test 05 was hit by 3 big losses. If those tests were managed, the loss would have been limited on Test 05 and so results could be better.

Test to be continued has there is not a clear winner.

Test 06 Versus Test 07
==========================================================
A8.png
Best results for Test 07, but best averages values are for Test 06 and less margin usage…

Daily Virtual Basket Test 10
==========================================================

==> All time results:
A9.png

Week 22 and 23 the VB mode was still in dev mode so let’s keep only week 24:
A10.png
Great results, additional stats needed to conclude anything, but I like what I see.

I am still working on the analysis to be continued…

For the coming week:

==> I discard the Test 12 with the Virtual Basket Mode 1 on the Weekly Timeframe as it is not the priority in the current tests. The trigger sounds ok, now the tricky thing is how to get out of this basket…

Considering that the back tests in the Excel file were showing great figures, I will get back to it later.

==> I add another test: Test 13 which is the same than test 10 VB but this time based on Test 02.

VB test 10 is based on Test 01 which has the Trend Direction filter ON.
VB test 13 is based on Test 02 which has the Trend Direction filter OFF.

For both, test 10 and test 13, I set a pips SL for the baskets at - 200 pips.

Monday 20 June

I was wondering, what do your guys prefer?

Do you prefer if I post a summary of my various tests per day?

Or do you prefer if I post some screenshots per test per day?

So for Monday here is the summary of the various test's results (without the screenshots per test, but I keep them as a reference in case they are needed).

As a Monday, it was not a good day for Daily Baskets and for Daily VB as well.

Weekly basket were in profit at the end of the Day.

After seeing the answers, I have posted the Dashboard’s screenshots for Monday also.

As much as I can, I will post the XLS screenshot summary and the Dashboard’s screenshots. If for some reasons I am short in time, I will post only the XLS summary.

Another idea is to post only the XLS summary in the post and to create a folder in the website server where I would post all screenshots, so they will be available for reference… I think it could be a good alternative, the post will remain clean with only the main info’s and the screenshots will be easily available for further reference.

As I am writing this post, I think more and more that I am going to implement that right now ;-)

Tuesday 20 June

dayrst.png

A mixed day for Daily tests, some are green some are red…

Weekly baskets are in deep drawdown as you can see on my live results.

Concerning the Virtual baskets:

Do not look at results for VB test 10 and VB test 13. In the latest DB version V 1.14 (not public yet) that I am testing I have a creating a glitch while I wanted to improve a part of the code. I have just finished to patch that, once testing is done and ok, I will post the DB V 1.14 in the thread. For the moment v 1.13 is still the good one.

VB test 11 (Alan’s way) triggered first an in-trend VB which was closed in loss at - 300 pips, and the opposite reversal basket went to + 300 pips and was closed by the trailing mode at + 50 pips.

As explained in my previous post, the Dashboard’s screenshots are available on the website server in this folder (I am going to add a shortcut to this folder in the First post of this thread also):

Link Dashboard’s Screenshots

Each time a basket is closed the Dashboard takes a screenshot just before the closure and once the closure is done. So for each closure you will find 2 screenshots.

Wednesday 21 June - A bloody day excepted for...

DAYRST.png

As most of your tests, my tests have closed in big red losses :devil:

Daily: Red, red and red

Weekly: in drawdown

The only satisfaction for today is... and the winner is again Test 10, with a reversal VB triggered first, which was closed by an in trend VB. Both were closed in profit.

The test 10 was not affected by the glitch in the DB when the Test 13 was affected... Let's get more stats on those VB, the more I use them the more I love them :love:

PS: as explained yesterday the DB screenshots are posted automatically on the server by FTP directly (I have included an option to do it in the DB).

Thursday 22 June

Another red day for Daily tests.

Weekly are recovering a little bit the DD.

VB triggerred only the in trend basket and not the Reversal, there is still a bug to fix, I am on it :-/
