Hi,
Here are a few tips for those who wants to use the alerts available in MT4:
===============================
Email alerts
===============================
Some Email provider do not allow to send emails with MT4. In the past, Gmail was working with MT4, but the last time that I tried it was not working anymore (a while ago).
In order to send some alerts email, I have created a dedicated email at GMX.
You can create an account there and use it to send your alerts.
In order to send some email alerts, your next step enter your email account settings into MT4:
Go into MT4 menu > Tools > Options (Ctrl + O) > Email tab:
Then if you are using GMX, just type the following information’s:
Once done click on test to check if it is working.
===============================
Push notification with MT4 app
===============================
Here are the steps to set push notifications:
On your mobile or tablet:
- You have to install on your mobile or tablet the MT4 application and connect it to your account.
- Once done, go into the Settings, and get your Metaquotes ID (write it on a paper).
On your MT4 platform:
- Go into MT4 menu > Tools > Options (Ctrl + O) > Notifications tab:
- Click to enable the Push notifications and enter your Metaquotes ID (ID that you get above).
Once done click on test to check if it is working.
Additional information’s:
- You can send notifications up to 4 devices. To do it enter the MetaQuotes IDs, separated by commas. The notifications will be sent to all of the devices simultaneously.
- If you enable “Notify of trade transactions” you will receive push notifications for all opened or closed trades. If you have a lot of transactions, you might want to disable this option.
- There is a limitation on the number of messages that can be sent: no more than 1 message per 0,5 second and no more than 10 messages per minute.
