Hi,
In order to respect our philosophy to highlight interest content, and to avoid to multiply the number of threads, as it’s too often the case in well-known forum, we are going to try to organize the strategy section with the following logic.
I proposed to include in the thread’s title the nature of the strategy discussed and the trading horizon (style): “[TREND] - [DAY TRADING] - My Strategy Name”.
Just as a reminder, our idea is not to share tons of strategies. We want to have a transversal approach. What I mean by transversal approach is, if something is working and seems to generate some cash on a consistent basis, let’s discuss and test it here to see if it’s should be included in our trading arsenal. If a strategy is working, we will push it and make it visible, if not, we will throw it into the recycle bin. Why keeping hundred pages of useless stuff? (An archive will be accessible for history, but we won’t push those).
There are tons of strategies out there, so, let’s try to sort them in categories, considering that some strategies could be included in multiple strategies:
Trading horizon (styles) categories:
=====================================
Day Trading
Position Trading
Swing Trading
Scalping
London Open
New York Open
London Session
…
Strategies categories:
=====================================
[TREND]
Any trend following strategy (Momentum, Trend…).
[FUNDAMENTAL] or [NEWS]
Any fundamental or news trading strategy.
[BO]
Any breakout strategy (Tokyo BO, Fractal BO, London BO…).
[REVERSAL]
Any reversal strategy (Reversion to the mean, Range trading, Rangebound Fades…).
[RETRACEMENT]
Any retracement strategy (Pullback…).
[HEDGE]
Any hedge strategy.
[CARRY TRADE]
Any carry trading strategy.
[MARTINGALE]
Any martingale or anti-martingale strategy.
[GRID]
Any grid strategy.
[ARBITRAGE]
Any arbitrage strategy (I don’t know any kind of Arbitrage strategy and don’t believe in them but who knows).
[OTHER]
Any other strategy (contrarian, high frequency, algorithmic, quantitative…).
Let’s always keep in mind that at the end we only need one thing: a statistical edge.
PS: Any other ideas or suggestions are welcome.
