MT5

As you probably know already, MetaQuotes has finally decided to abandon MT4, more information’s are available in this article:

Considering this major news, I have started to look and test MT5 to be ready when brokers will abandon MT4 for MT5.

Today, I have contacted the support of 2 brokers:

JFD: they plan to implement MT5 in first half 2017 and they will communicate to their clients with mass email and on their website in due time.

Trader’s Way: they have no plan for MT5 implementation yet.

I am going to start testing MT5 with FxPro. They offer a free MT5 demo platform… Please note that I don’t have any live account nor feedback about FxPro.

PS: GiG MT5 experimental tools will be posted in this 1st post. They will be moved in tools thread in due time.

Finally, after a couple of hours, I managed to make an MT5 version of CDM

This is a preliminary version, I will have to work a little bit on it again, to make sure that everything is correct and optimized and also to add the other timeframes available in MT5…

This was an “easy tricky one”, as CDM is not really using complex pieces of codes and not drawing any information’s on charts, it just manage windows. The challenge was to make sure that the API calls were working fine in MT5.

Quick tips , in MT5 you have to double click on buttons to have an action. If you want to change this like in MT4, you have to go in > Tools > Options > Tab Charts > and then select “Select object by single mouse click”.

GiG MT5 tools will be posted and available in post 1 of this thread as it is still experimental. They will be moved in the tools thread in due time.

I am feeling happy that CDM is working fine on MT5 but I am feeling also a little bit nervous about the other tools that I will have to update, and specially Blast…
